On Sadism

Written by

After reading 120 Days of Sodom, I feel strangely redeemed for not being even a quarter as evil as the writer and all those who follow in his diabolical teachings.

You think you are bad?

There is always worse.

Nevertheless, my infinite ability to empathize forces me to look deeper (no pun intended) into the twisted mind of Marquis de Sade. I believe, having read his about a half of his magnus opus, that he genuinely believes in his convictions and should things be his way, the stories in his books would become common place in the world.

It would seem, that this man felt a calling to spread his vile art in the world, so much so that he was compelled to continue it even while incarcerated. Even for me, I have to acknowledge that takes will power, or perhaps it was just the final evolution of his corrupt philosophy. Perhaps, in his isolated, quiet jail cell, Sade would have the perfect environment to create a piece of work that surely has its place in Hell’s library.

Surface Level Evil

As inhumane, perhaps even cruel of me to say, but Sade’s work is indicative of far greater demonic literature. His novels are, for all intense and purposes, of the academic and professional quality. It is evident through the “Notes” section, where he – dare I say – eloquently drafts his vision and consistently reminds himself to take extra care for continuity (something modern day creative writers struggle with). As a writer, I can respect that his dedication to art of writing itself is, at the minimum, grounded in technical principles and methodology used by all great writers. However, he takes this long established artform and extracts all that is grotesque, evil, and profane of human culture to blend together, to totally desecrate the language of man.

My point is that Sade did not need to go to great lengths to describe the absolute worst humanity can conduct itself in, but to do so in a way that is intellectually feasible albeit morally insane (judging by even medieval era standards). It would not be wise to so quickly burn this piece of literature or to erase it off history. It is actually a valuable read to he who understands what he is looking at.

My ‘seemingly’ wise take on Sade’s output of ridiculously large set of perverted, downright blasphemous content, is that this is true evil extending a welcome invitation to all souls who feel so inclined to walk down this path of libertinage. As a wayward reader from a different time period, I can’t help but feel the authenticity, nay, the desperate cry for understanding buried between the lines of every foul text. The author, Sade, is doing everything he can within his power to argue justly, logically and plainly for his libertine philosophy using the books he has written as a database to detail his arguments in between his hell-driven imagination.

Traitors to Humanity
Enemies of God Almighty

The Sons of Sade continue to roam, rape and ravage the world today, much like their idol-father in his time.

A demon like Sade comes along every once in a generation, but even after his death hundreds of years ago, his teachings have remained and has secretly embedded itself in the very core of tradition and culture of the most powerful nations. Evil is alive and well. And the Sons of Sade have spawned countless branches of demonic groups that carry on the spirit of destruction that its predecessors were based on.

It is clear to me, that these poor souls have long abandoned reason and virtue for their primal instincts and carnal desires, with no regard for what humanity God has instilled within them.

These atheist scum are no better than devil worshippers. I would dare say, the latter may even be more worthy and honorable by comparison. Devil worshippers will at least acknowledge the existence of God, and play pretend into thinking the war between heaven and hell is winnable for either side, it is not.

The war between heaven and hell is played out for eternity, an infinite proving ground for souls to show their worth in the eyes of man and god alike.

To resign oneself into believing that no God exists, yet the acts of man can still be weighted good or bad, is to me, absolute proof that atheistic-mental prone men and women are by far the lowest form of intellect possible.

NOTHING points to there being No God.
EVERYTHING points to there being a God.

God itself is a term that man cannot possibly comprehend.

And in this regard, Marquis Sade is both right and wrong. God may not exist as he believes himself to understand it. God may be something much different, entirely inconceivable to our mere mortal skulls..

God is not to be understood, and that is something I have always felt compelled to intrinsically believe.

God’s existence is self-evident through life itself, and the small matters of mortal lives is not something one can use to support or deny this belief. Should evil men do evil things, that is just the way the world works.

No amount of mental gymnastics and illogical deduction can take away from the fact that evil is unsustainable.

No evil deed goes unpunished, and while Marquis de Sade’s fictionalized characters may have gotten away with their many devilish crimes, the fact remains that he himself led a life of infamy, squalor, hate and indignation, so much so that his very family name has been tarnished and soiled for all of human history.

I am 90% in disagreement with Sade, and perhaps the only 10% part I can agree with is that humans are driven by satisfaction and pleasure. But satisfaction and pleasure can be spiritually dictated and self-annointed.

A man can find levels of entertainment in playing with rocks and sand, equal to that of the carnage described in 120 Days of Sodom. All the man need to do, is close off his mind and heart to the temptations of the devil. The devil, so fishy and tricky, tosses into our thoughts, lines of thinking that would have us believe we are justified in our actions, whatever it may be.

I see now, that it is a dangerous thing to reason. To think, and to ponder on things greater than the simplest daily needs. Man has in his power the capability to live peacefully among the stars or to doom its systems to chaos and madness.

I believe the Sons of Sade and all those in allegiance with this death cult are illogical, mind-infected creatures, made up of weak, stupid humans, too foolish to see past their own pleasures and too prideful to sufficiently reflect on their actions and its effects on society as a whole.

I hate evil. Takes the real fun out of life, having to deal with sadistic animals given human form.
